Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 27 February 2026

Thank you for taking the time to read this information. These Terms and Conditions are here to offer clarity about how this counselling and psychotherapy practice works, so you know what to expect.

1. About This Practice

I offer person-centred, trauma-informed counselling and psychotherapy for adults (18+) via online and telephone sessions across the UK from Southport in Merseyside.

This practice does not offer a crisis service. If you need urgent or emergency support, please contact emergency services or visit the Help Now page.

2. Arranging Sessions

Before beginning ongoing work, I offer a free 20-minute introductory call. This gives us both the opportunity to consider whether working together feels like the right fit.

All online and telephone sessions are 60 minutes in length.

Ongoing sessions are arranged by mutual agreement.

3. Fees and Payment

  • Standard session fee: £50

  • Concession fee: £35 (a small number of concessionary sessions are available by arrangement, for student counsellors or those who are unwaged)

Sessions should be paid for at the time of booking, when details of how payment can be made will also be provided.

Periodically fees may be reviewed. Any changes will be discussed in advance.

4. Cancellations and Changes

I understand that life can be unpredictable.

If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for at least 48 hours notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours’ notice will still charged at the full fee.

Thank you for understanding that this protects time set aside specifically for you.

5. Confidentiality

Confidentiality is central to safe therapeutic work.

What you share in sessions remains private. The only exceptions are where:

  • There is a serious risk of harm to you or someone else

  • There are safeguarding concerns

  • Disclosure is required by law

Where possible, I would aim to discuss this with you before taking any action.

6. Online and Telephone Sessions

For both online and telephone sessions, it is important that you attend from a private space where you feel able to speak freely.

While secure platforms are used, no online system can guarantee absolute security. By choosing online or telephone sessions, you acknowledge and accept this small level of risk.

7. Scope of Work

This practice supports adults experiencing difficulties such as anxiety, low mood, relationship challenges, self-doubt, recovery, or the impact of addiction.

It does not provide:

  • Emergency mental health care

  • Medical or psychiatric services

  • Crisis intervention

If your needs fall outside my scope of practice, we can discuss appropriate alternatives.

8. Website Use

The information on this website is for general guidance only and does not replace professional or medical advice.

Content may not be copied or reproduced without permission.

9. Professional Standards

I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work in accordance with its Ethical Framework. I hold appropriate professional insurance and engage in regular supervision.

10. Changes to These Terms

These Terms may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in practice or legal requirements. The most recent version will always be available on this website.
